Male-Bashing Punching Bag--'When you're done giving Monster Man a virtual beat-down, you'll feel a lot better'

September 15th, 2007 by Glenn Sacks, MA for Fathers & Families

She always deserves a chance to have her revenge. The "Male Bashing Punching Bag" is advertised on www.WishingFish.com. They explain:

"Yoga class takes care of most of your stress and tension; girls' martini nights and the occasional chocolate binge can usually handle the rest. But sometimes Dude just makes you want to get downright violent! That's when you need this inflatable punching bag with a generic male likeness printed on front and back. Give him a right hook, a left hook, then a good kick to the rear! Repeat until satisfied. If you want to focus your anger on a specific manly nemesis, slide a snapshot of the offender into the plastic face pouch. Then follow the helpful notes and arrows on the bag: 'punch him here!,' 'knee him here!,' and 'kick him here!.' The bottom of the bag is weighted so you won't send it flying. The best part: when you're done giving Monster Man a virtual beat-down, you'll feel a lot better -- and he won't even know what hit him!

"Punching bag measures approximately 5 feet tall."

Beyond the obvious problems with the product, it doesn't seem to quite fit in with Wishingfish.com's self-described image:

"At Wishingfish.com, we have a passion for beautifully designed objects. Objects that inspire us and make life more beautiful. Objects with a sense of humor and style. And we've created this place to share our passion with you.

"Our collection includes an eclectic mixture of styles: vintage and modern, funky and sophisticated, East meets West. Our products are practical enough to use every day, yet beautiful enough to save for a special occasion. Use them to create your own unique environment, your own (life) style.

"We update our boutique regularly, so come back and visit us often. We're trying to build something really special here in our little corner of the Web..."

Apparently the "Male Bashing Punching Bag" has sold out--I wonder if it will be back.

I followed the link, and it redirected to their home page. The Wayback Machine shows it was on their site from December 2005 to June this year, but here's hoping they've got the message and won't bring it back.

Do they have a female version? I bet not.

  3. Advoc Says:

if they did have a female version, there would be an out cry from every women group in the country.

it nice to know that the myth on men are abusive is going on strong.

Woman to self-centered jerk: "He's hot!"

Woman to nice, hard-working guy: "I just want to be friends" or "What a loser!""

Far be it from women to take responsibility for their own bad choices when victimhood is so readily available.

"Monster Man comes with the guarantee that irrespective of all evidence to the contrary, M.Man will be considered the aggressor whereas your actions will be considered to be in self defense. (Endorsed by the Duluth model.)"

Interesting that it's considered tough to attack a target that won't hit back.

Hey pjk, I think the idea behind this bag is that it's okay to hurt men. Men are disposible/men deserve it/men should take i and 'be a man'

The 'women only go for jerks' argument should remain in the realm of lonely teenage boys, that is not misandry.

Although it is true that women often do enter relationships with abusive men willingly (there was a woman who ran a battered women's shelter who researched it, I forget her name)

  9. SouthernDad Says:

What I think is most hilarious about this item is the constant denial by feminists and women's advocate groups claiming that women are never violent or the aggressor in domestic assaults. Yet here is an object that encourages women to do just that. It wouldn't be much of a stretch for a woman to graduate from this punching bag to an actual assault on a male companion. It appears to be nothing more than a training device that teaches women how to physically assault a man.

  10. DcFather Says:

What would be hilarious is a punching bag wit a female likeness. Not that punching women is any funnier than punching men, but watching the feminist hypocrites suddenly come out of the woodwork to complain, and seeing two or three new laws accordningly passed by our feminist-patsy Congress, now that would be funny.

    Thanks gwallan.

What's most interesting about Pizzey is that all the admirable work she did to help women was whitewashed because she entertained the idea that women could be violent towards their partners.

Even more interesting that the feminists who would categorically state that women are never violent are quite happy to issue death threats to an ally.

  14. Mike Says:

Sungjun is it tough when a man picks on a real live woman to punch for real that he's 3 times bigger than? Half of these guys who are so upset about a punching bad getting hit probably beat up their wives for real like Southern Dad
