Assembly Committee Says They're Receiving 'Many, Many Letters' from You on Shared Parenting Bill--Have You Sent Yours Yet?
January 22nd, 2008 by Glenn Sacks, MA for Fathers & Families
Wisconsin Fathers for Children and Families is trying to get their shared parenting bill out of committee, and last week I asked you to write letters to the Wisconsin Assembly's Children and Families Committee in support of the bill.
Steve Blake, president of WFCF, wrote me and said that he spoke with one of the Committee's clerks and was told that they are receiving "many, many E-mails" from you in support of the bill. Steve asks me to thank all of you.
Now, my question--have you sent your letter yet?
If not, please email all the committee members at once by clicking here.
Blake says that while letters from Wisconsin are best, he also wants letters from all over the United States. Steve's Call to Action is below. Blake can be reached at steveblake53@yahoo.com or 608-584-6508.
VERY IMPORTANT-WE NEED YOU TO ACT NOW!!
Wisconsin's Equal Placement (aka Shared Parenting) bill AB-571 will be heard January 24 in the Children and Families committee of the Wisconsin Assembly. We are asking members to send an E-mail, call or fax to the committee members asking them to support the bill. Feel free to include your story if you want. The committee members' contact information is below--don't forget to include your name and address.

mmm, Children and Families Committee - I guess things are looking up when 1 member out of the 7 was allowed to be a man.

mmm, I said I was going to write but then it was my last week with my kids and I spent the whole time with them but didn't write the emails...ok, now I will instead of my nightly gaming...
So, I wrote:
Dear Council Person,
I have read and understood to the best of my ability the proposed amendment to the Shared Parenting Bill AB-571. While I live in California I am absolutely jealous that we have no where near the justice that is becoming available in Wisconsin. Please support the bill and further yet review individual judge’s records to assure that they are not applying prejudice in willfully misconstruing the intent of the law.
Apparently Wisconsin has the chance to lead the nation in justice and the strength of its family. The people who grew up in Wisconsin that I have known seemed to have strong family virtues, and I suspect that to be a driving force behind Wisconsin’s leadership in this issue.
Sincerely,
Stephen M Weiss, MSME, PE of California

I'm happy to see the huge response. Every day I'm more encouraged that the MRM is making gains. I'll be doing my part.

To Kirk C:
On the surface I understand your comment about one male being on this committee. However, I can assure you that their are several fair and above board women on that committee. Don't forget women are also being impacted by this non-sense as second wives and as mothers of men.
Please write the committee and express your desire for children to experience the opportunities that two parents can bring into their lives. Wisconsin's infrastructure is decaying from inside and are most valuable resource "children" can no longer be ignored.
Equal parenting is and will always be the most optimal benifit for children.
KEEP WRITING!!
