Well, that's OK then

The New York Daily News has this piece on a woman allegedly murdered her husband, a NYC police officer. Her excuse? According to her attorney, the guy was sexually pretty far out of the mainstream, so...
The guy is dead and you can't libel a dead man, so who knows what he actually did behind closed doors? But let's assume everything this lawyer says is true - that he had sex with (apparently) transsexuals and liked to dress up in lingerie. Is that a reason to kill him? Divorce him, maybe. Maybe try to get him into therapy. Or if you're broad-minded (no pun intended), let it be.
I posted earlier about two newspaper articles purveying disinformation about domestic violence. Both claimed that female-on-male DV is exceptional or almost nonexistent. In so doing they help sweep it under the rug. I also posted about an episode of South Park that arguably excuses female violence against men. Here's yet another case of trying to excuse female-on-male DV.
You can't blame the attorney for trying to come up with a reason to save his client from a lengthy stay in the slammer. These days, with popular culture and the news doing their part, who knows what a jury might buy?
