Swedish Police Can't Find Father's Kidnapped Sons in 6 Months of 'Trying,' but...

April 17th, 2009 by Robert Franklin, Esq.

Six months of waiting for the Swedish police to locate his children was enough for a Melbourne, Australia father.  His ex-wife had kidnapped his two sons and fled the country.  She's Swedish, so it was likely she had gone there, but the police in Sweden had failed to locate the boys.

So the man, who remains anonymous under Australian law, bought himself a plane ticket for Sweden and with a pair of binoculars sat in his car near the house of his ex-wife's parents.  One night, he walked up to the house and heard his boys' voices.  He then returned to his car and called the police who were able to arrest the ex-wife and return the man's sons to him.  It took him a week to do what the Swedish police had been unable to accomplish in six months.

The man has flown back to Sydney with his sons courtesy of the embarrassed Swedish government which bought the airplane tickets.  The boys' mother is in custody awaiting trial, presumably for international kidnapping.

Read about it here (news.com.au, 4/7/09).

Thanks to Jeremy for the heads-up.

I am so glad that the US has finally declared war on PIRACY, Female Pirates kidnap thousands of children every day.

Another Aussie dad faces charges of kidnapping in the US, when he travelled to the US to see his child, that the mother known as the Baby Whisper, failed to honour her agreement about child contact with dad.

Its good to know that at this mother wasn't willing to kill their children to keep them away.

  3. Sonja Says:

Heh, that just goes to show that sometimes taking the initiative can get you what you want/need better than just asking the authorities all the time.

Some news reports suggest a feminist group was assisting the abductor.

Sweden is of course the world biggest feminist hell hole, so perhaps they meant the police themselves?

    Outstanding work Dad!

It took the York Region Police over SIX years to find children that were abducted by their mother only after pressure was put on the Police Chief that legal and media action would be taken. I am no longer able to mention any names at the request of the father as the mother had used posts from this web site against her in court the other week. Although in my opinion it’s just a tactic to keep information away from the public’s knowledge by the courts.

the Judge blasted this father that he is involved with CanadaCourtWatch.com an organization that helps moms and dads to deal with difficult cases in Family Court matters.

Anywhere a male goes to get help is considered inflammatory action by the father and a trouble maker. The man who had his children abducted was and is considered to be a vigil-ante in the eyes of the courts and they don’t like him for that.

Right glad am I to know this father had the intuition and drive to seek finding his children and succeeded. He is lucky he was not arrested for some made up allegation. I think he is very, very lucky that things ended favourably!

    WAY TO GO DAD!!!

...Sounds like retrieving kidnapped boys for this father was deemed a "Low Priority" item by the Swedish police...

  9. digital_dreamer Says:

Yeah, and retrieving kidnapped children for a mother would be deemed a "High Priority" item by society at large.

Mom kidnaps / flees country, cops won't help, Mom likely to get scolded / unlikely to do hard time, Dad gets free plane ticket.

Dad kidnaps / flees country, cops search world, Dad in huge trouble, Dad gets free place to live for a few decades (jail), Mom writes book and goes on Oprah.
